Very good crime novel with fantastic elements about Erik, troubled man and his murderous spree at the famous Opera. Novel itself is bit old fashioned, but still worth reading. There is some gothic fiction employed, with all question is it a ghost or not. But very good villain who was some kind of world traveler until he decided he wanted to be like everyone else, which is the thing that destroyed him, after his futile abduction of french lady and killing of her boyfriend. Somewhat pathetic but whatever.
