Ed McBain - Fuzz



Once again master criminal called deaf man is making havoc to 87th precinct, threatening to kill city officials if they don't pay him, and detective Steve Carella is having bad time with hoodlums that throw fire at homeless people. Unfortunately master plan of the deaf man is destroyed by pure coincidence.

Ed McBain - Vespers



Another solid entry in famous 87th precinct series of novels, this one revolves around murder of priest. First suspicion is cast by near-by Satanic church, but it soon is revealed that some nigger dealed drugs to italians and after misunderstanding he went to church and hid drug inside of it. There is also minor subplot of detective girlfriend, former prostitute from Mexico who is chased down by south american thugs.

Ed McBain - The Heckler



This is enjoyable entry in 87th precinct novels by Ed McBain where criminal mastermind fucks with the police and creates diversions to lead them off his big plan, going so far to trap stadium with explosives. But as he goes away with the money bad luck finds him in last moment in shape of a beat cop. Luckily he escapes in the river but with no money.

Ed McBain - Eighty Million Eyes

 



Another good entry in famous police procedural novels this one is about sudden death of tv guy in front of cameras. Who would kill him and why? Good novel.

Ed McBain - KIller's Wedge




This is one pretty good entry in series of novels featuring cops from 87th precinct. In this one angry wife of dead criminal comes into station with a bomb and takes them all hostage. 

Ed McBain - Give the boys a great big hand




This is another interesting novel about cops in 87th precinct. Murderer is fucking around with them, confusing them by throwing around body parts at random locations throughout the city.

Ed McBain - Lady, lady, I did it!




Another good entry in long running series of books about cops in 87th precinct. This one deals about murder of Bert Kling's girl. Cops are especially interested in this case and in subsequent investigation find some very dark things about Bert Kling's dead girl.  

Ed McBain - King's Ransom




Another exciting novel about cops in 87th precinct, this one deals with kidnapping of young boy from wealthy family. Kidnappers got the wrong boy and soon it becomes tense with father of a son who was supposed to be kidnapped. He doesn't want to pay the ransom or his business with some factory will fall.

Good novel, find it in your local library or search net for it.

Ed McBain - Con Man




Ed McBain is famous for his novels depicting day to day activities of police precinct 87th and officers who work there. This particular part of the series is quite good, focusing on criminal who chops girls after he befriended them and took their money.

McBain also wrote bunch of pornography novels, and is also famous as man who wrote screenplay for movie 'Birds' by Alfred Hitchcock. Good fellow, good writer.
