The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973)

Based on George W. Higgins book and directed by Peter Yates, this is very bleak movie about small time crook played by Robert Mitchum. In desperate situation he got into bank robbery attempt together with some of his so called friends. In the end they all abandon him, bank robbery goes wrong, and crooked cops decide to kill him in the end. Good supporting role by Harry Dean Stanton.
